MAGINALIZATION OF WARD EIGHT (8) IN CALABAR MUNICIPALITY: A PASSIONATE APPEAL TO CORRECT THE IMBALANCE FOR THE GOOD OF OUR GREAT PARTY APC IN THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS

Right from the beginning of this political dispensation in 1999, Ward Eight (8) has been deprived of key substantive positions in every strata of government, from the Local Government, State and Federal levels.

NO ONE from the Ward has been elected Chairman or even Vice Chairman of the Local Government.
NO ONE has been elected as a member of the State House of Assembly.
NO ONE has been elected as a Member of the National Assembly, etc.

FOR APPOINTIVE POSITIONS:
NO ONE has been appointed as a Commissioner in the State. Not even in the Boards or Agencies.
NO ONE has been appointed as a Director General or even as a Chairman of a Board or parastatal.

It is confirmed from the picture above that Ward 8 has been extremely deprived.

It is also worthy of note that Ward 8 has the Highest Number of Polling Units in Calabar Municipality.
The Ward also has The Highest Number of Registered Voters in Calabar Municipality.

However, in spite of this injustice meted on the Ward, the Ward has been delivering successfully in every elections no matter how tough or competitive the election is. Records are there to confirm.

In view of this unfortunate situation, we strongly appeal to the leadership of our great Party, to compassionately consider Ward 8 by micro zoning the position of the House of Assembly in Calabar Municipality to our Ward, for equity, fairness, justice, and good conscience, especially now that our party is going to face a serious competition in the 2023 general elections.
