Biase LGA strengthening Ayade’s agro-industrialization pursuit

A familiarization visit to the IBIAE Oil Palm Estate was undertaken by the Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs. Ada Charles Egwu on Wednesday.

During the visit, Hon. Egwu said: Agriculture is the mainstay of our economy and in line with the State Government’s Agro-industrial revolution which is aim at decoupling our dependency on federal allocation, I have to paid this visit on your establishment to seek possible ways to strengthening existing collaborations while exploring other avenues for future partnership that will be beneficial to our people.

“I must commend the management team for your laudable programmes which has impacted positively on the host community and Biase at large especially in the area of job creation, provision of basic social amenities and boasting the overall economic of the area as well as improving their standard of living.

Keying in to the company’s out growers scheme, the council chairman pledges to donate land for the scheme and also see how to contribute her quota as council chairman to redress some challenges been face by the company.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager of Biase Plantation Limited, a subsidiary of Wilmar International, Mr. Ahoy Nicholas who was represented by the Assistant General Manager, Mr. Jaya Kumar commended the workaholic council boss for the visit, which according to him said: “From our records, you are the third Council Chairman to visit Ibiae Estate since its inception”

“As a company, we want to assured you of our continuous cooperation and pledge that we will keep to all instruments that we have signed with the government viz-a-viz employment for local indigene (labour and staff) and award of contract, Corporate Social Responsibility among others”

The Secretary of Council, Mr. Daniel Ivang, Special Adviser on Security, Hon. Ekume ukam, Supervisor for Works, Mr. Sunday Ekpo, Special Assistant on Revenue, Mr. Mba Ekpenyong, HOLGA, Mrs Margaret Bassey, DGSA, Mrs Okon Ebi and DFS, Mr. Gregory Bassey among others.

Highpoint of the visit was a guided tour of inspection of some basic basic facilities provided by the company like school, staff quarters and the presentation of gift to the chairman by the general manager’s representative.
