Earlier today at Abuochiche the Headquarters of Bekwarra Local Government Council, the council chairman Dr. Josephat Owan Emeka presented the 2021 Budget to the Bekwarra Legislative Council for consideration and speedy passage.
The highlight of the budget according to the Council Chairman, has the target of opening up the rural communities to agricultural and commercial purposes which is in line with the State government’s policies on development and generation of employment through agriculture, given the obvious fact that Bekwarra people are agrarian in nature hence the budget was captioned Budget of Regeneration.
The capital budget (projects) centered on establishment of Bekwarra poultry farm, Soya beans farming, reopening of Bekwarra bricks blocks factory, restructuring the council administrative environment, creating and opening of new roads in each of the wards for commercial purposes which is in line with the State government policy on rural development and jobs creation. Hence the budget was captured “Budget of Regeneration” because it focuses on reviving of Bekwarra glorious days in Agriculture, infrastructure, human capital development etc.
The Executive Chairman, averred that the budget for this year is a deficit budget in the sum of four billion, two hundred and seventeen million naira only (N4, 217, 000, 000). Whereas the budget size is eight billion, five hundred and eighty four million, nine hundred and two thousand, six hundred and ninety two naira (N8, 584, 902, 692).
It is composed of a recurrent estimate of two billion, four hundred and forty four million, nine hundred and sixty six thousand, four hundred and seven naira (N2, 444, 966, 407) and a capital budget of six billion, one hundred and thirty million, one hundred and twenty six thousand, two hundred and eighty five naira (N6, 139, 126, 285) only.

The Leader of the 6th Bekwarra Legislative Assembly, Hon. Emonshe Thomas Enyi in his address thanked the Council Chairman for his wonderful presentation of the 2021 which was indeed the first in the life of this administration.
He reiterated that the enthusiasm and committement shown by the Chairman during his presentation of the budget is an indication of his alertness to his statutory responsibilities and decision to impact positively on the lives of the Bekwarra people.
He further assured the Chairman that he will do all that is necessary to accelerate the passage of this budget.
